What is communication?
Maryann
Communication is exchanging information and ideas.
You communicate through speech, writing, etc.
Advertisers communicate through commericals, print ads, and those annoying pop up ads, on the internet or comming through your cell phone.
I need to learn to communicate through sign language so I can continue a relationship with my niece.

For my topic for the research paper
I think print ads (flyers, brochures)
I want to go into real estate(landlord), need to sell units of housing using my communications degree.

Communication is the means by which one divulges information through methods of speech, listening, facial expressions, eye contact, acknowledgement and body language.

My research topic will be based on the progression of music past and present music mediums and its impact in society. Some questions I am considering is:
Why I’m interested in this topic?
How many years before the next evolution of music took place?
Are the past mediums of music still available and if so, are they still in use today?
Cost of such mediums and who uses it?

Communication is an exchange of information through any form for the five senses (not always through spoken words).

For my communication tech. research, I am leaning towards "hearing aids" and how it developed.

Communication is the exchange of thoughts, messages and information. We communicate in many different ways radio, television, and telephone. My topic for the research paper is going to be based on the cell phone or how the telephone came into existence.

In 1825, British inventor, William Sturgeon created the telegraph. The telegraph opened up an arena of large-scale electronic communication. In 1884 Sturgeon was able to send a message from Washington, D.C to Baltimore through the use of Morse Code.

Communication is a learned skill. Most people are born with the physical ability to talk but we must learn to speak well and communicate effectively. Speaking, listening, and our ability to understand verbal and nonverbal meanings are skills we develop in various ways. We learn basic communication skills by observing other people and modeling our behaviors based on what we see. W e also are taught some communication skills directly through education, and by practicing those skills and having them evaluated.

My research topic will be on communication with the cell phones

According to the Wikipedia, "Communication is a process that allows organisms to exhange information by several methods. Communication requires that all parties understand a common language that is exchanged. There are auditory means, such as speaking or singing, and nonverbal, physical means, such as body language, sign language, paralanguage, touch, eye contact, or the use of writing." I believe communication is how we interact with one another, animals and within society.
The communication technology I may be leaning towards for my research topic is email and how it has changed the way we communicate.

My research topic titled "The Negative Impact of TV Violence on Children" can be used for the the comuunication types we discussed in class. for example:
My brother daily watches television programs that involve violence, so much that he always felt deep within he wanted to fight(Intrapersonal). Eventually he encouraged my younger brother to be his fighting partner in the house. This involved the two acting as the dynamic duo fighters (interpersonal). As time went on he formed a group which involved four children on the block which they called themselves the fantastic four fighters (small group). The fantastic four fighters chose a leader for the group whose responsiblity was to spread the word that they were the toughest fighters in the neighborhood. When the other kids heard this they rounded up their group and they were ready to have a battle (SMCR). When both leaders came together with their groups, they decided it would be best to become one group. They realized more kids would give them more fighting power and would enable them to become a gang (large group). Children can learned aggression along with other behaviors from watching violent T.V. programs which they sometimes believe it can bring rewards; but in actuality it can bring them harm.
